Day 1: Prague
Embarment in the morning, in the evening welcome dinner. Overnight in Prague, which
is one of the most beautiful and important European cities. There is lovely view
of Prague Castle from the ship. Prague, known as a city of hundred towers, lies
in the heart of Europe and boasts UNESCO status. The city was founded in the 9th
century on the crossway of the bussiness routes. Because of its architectonic, historical,
cultural and economic importance, the Czech capital is one of the
most important cities all over the world.
Day 2: Prague, Štěchovice
Departure in the morning going upstream on the Vltava river and passing through
beautiful countryside to Štěchovice, a small town a short distance from the famous
Svatojánské proudy (the St. John’s Currents) – here the Vltava winds its way through
a wonderful canyon-like valley. During the afternoon there will be the option to
set out on the first bicycle trip. For those to whom cycling does not appeal, we
have prepared an optional trip to Karlštejn – the most well known and significant
castle in Czech history, the work of the Czech King and Holy Roman Emperor Charles
IV. It served as a royal treasury, in particular for collections of holy relics,
the imperial coronation jewels, the remains of saints and for the sovereign’s own
relaxation and contemplation. Another option is a boat trip on the regular line
running via the Svatojánské proudy to the Slapy dam and back. The night will be
spent in Štěchovice.
Day 3: Štěchovice, Prague
Return to Prague by boat in the morning, anchoring in the afternoon. Free programme,
sightseeing options in Prague where the night will be spent.
Day 4: Prague, Mělník
The ship reaches Mělník, the old town that lies in the middle of the Labe lowlands
at the confluence of the Labe and the Vltava rivers, in the noon. The town featuring
the typical panorama is dominated by a Renaissance chateau and St Peter's and St
Paul's Church with a nice view. Mělník is the town with long tradition of viniculture.
There is a possibility of a cycling tour to Kokořín Castle through the most beautiful
Czech valley with a lot of sandstone formations. The other posssibility is a walking
tour of Mělník. Facultative visit of a wine manufacture. Overnight in Mělník.
Day 5: Mělník – Litoměřice – Píšťany
The ship cruises from Mělník towards Litoměřice, one of the oldest and most beautiful
towns in the Czech Republic. We offer walking tour of Litoměřice, nice town rich
of Renaissance and Baroque buildings. The town lies at confluence of the Labe and
the Ohře rivers, in the picturesque region of the Czech Central Mountains. We also
offer facultative tour to Terezín, which includes the visit of the large bastion
fortress, the former Jewish ghetto and the former concentration camp where almost
50 000 died. The town Terezín is named after empress Maria Theresa of Austria. Terezín
memorial's main purpose is to remember victims of Nazism. There is possibility to
go to Ústí nad Labem by bicycle and back. The cruise continues from Litoměřice to
the sand pit in Píšťany. Overnight in Píšťany.
Day 6: Píšťany, Hřensko, Nelahozeves, Veltrusy
The ship cruises from Píšťany to Velké Žernoseky during breakfast. We offer facultative
tour from Velké Žernoseky to Hřensko. Hřensko is the place surrounded by wild and
romantic nature. The whole area belongs to Bohemian Switzerland National Park, which
is protected landscape area. The National Park is famous because of the natural
sandstone bridge called Pravčická brána , which is the largest and the most spectacular
one in Europe. During the Bohemian Switzerland tour the ship goes to Nelahozeves,
where the large Renaissance chateau from the 16th century is located. The chateau
is surrounded by a large park. Embarkment is planned in the afternoon. There is
a possibility to make a tour of the town of Nelahozeves and Veltrusy. Chateau Veltrusy
was built in the 18th century and is surrounded by one of the best-preserved English
parks in Europe. Overnight in Nelahozeves.
Day 7: Nelahozeves, Prague
Cycling tour along the Vltava river via Kralupy nad Vltavou to Prague-Troja in the
morning hours. At the same time the ship moves to Troja. Prague-Troja gives opportunity
to visit the Czech largest and newly reconstructed zoological garden. Botanical
Garden and magnificent Troja Chateau are the places that should be visited as well.
Return to the Prague centre in the evening hours. Possibility of an evening walk
in Prague. Overnight in Prague.
Day 8: Prague
The passengers are supposed to leave their rooms in the morning hours.
